Bridgeport Art Center’s 1st Annual Art Competition was a great success!

julian and tom smMore than 500 guests came to view the 60 finalists selected by jurors Thomas McCormick and Julian Williams for Bridgeport Art Center’s first annual art competition on Saturday, January 5, 2013.

The prizewinners:

First Prize ($1,000):   Fisher, Joel, Together We’re F—kd

Second Prize ($750):  Surges, Kyle, Unwrapped Miniature

Best Figurative Work ($250): Romero, Jonathan M., Kristin

Best 3-D Work ($250):  Rubin, Marci, Adipose Field

Most Innovative Use of Medium ($250): Marx, Michael, Transferred

Popular Favorite ($500): Marinov, Boyan, Boundless

In addition, three artists will be selected for a future show at the BAC:  names to be announced.


The exhibition continues until January 31. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8AM – 6PM; Thurs, Fri and Saturday until 9PM. Free parking is available on the north side of the building. Gallery is accessible through the north entrance (Racine and 34th ).
