The Bridgeport Art Center hosts several tenants that offer various classes. Please contact them directly for questions concerning class schedules and fees. All prices and classes are subject to change and should be confirmed with the appropriate contacts below.

Chicago Creative Commons

Take a Woodworking Class with Hal! We offer beginners 12-week classes teaching the basic fundamentals of woodworking and will include projects that teach you to work with both hand and power tools. Your final project is up to you to design and make!

Classes starting at $945 + $175 materials fee, limit of 6.

Chicago Ceramic Center

Try your hand at making something out of mud! Three hour Beginning Wheel Throwing classes are offered throughout the week.  Participants will experience basic methods of centering clay, forming cylinder and bowl forms, trimming, and adding handles. Additionally, students will learn how to finish their pots using standard decorating and glazing techniques. No prior experience needed.

Course fee includes clay, tools, bisque firing and glaze firing. No additional costs. Open studios on Saturday are also included.
Wheel throwing classes starting at $295 for 8 weeks – $155 per month for independent study. Advanced classes, figurative , and Hand-building Workshops and other classes are available on the web site.

Bridgeport Athletics & CrossFit

Bridgeport Athletics features more than 6,000 square feet of expansive timber construction gym space on the first floor overlooking the Chicago River.  This CrossFit gym offers many amenities, including large open areas of rubber flooring, a double wide turf lane for sleds / running drills, a 20′ pull-up rig complete with squat rack stations, high ring stations for muscle ups, climbing rope areas, wallball zones, handstand pushup areas, and rowers / airdynes.  Bridgeport Athletics is also outfitted with a full selection of kettlebells, barbells, bumper plates, dumbbells, benches,  power racks, and TRX trainers.

Bridgeport Athletics also provides Cardio, Strength, Weight Loss / Muscle Gain training, Powerlifting, Olympic Lifting, Bodybuilding and Personal Training.  Try your first class for free!

Green Star Movement

Green Star Movement inspires students and community members through the creation of public art. This interactive process builds teamwork and self esteem in participants and revitalizes urban neighborhoods. At MakeAMosaic classes, our teaching artists will introduce participants to basic mosaic techniques such as design, tile cutting and application, and grouting, and students will design and create their very own mosaic project to take home. At each class session, you can choose from a flower pot, coaster set, picture frame, vase, or tray! All proceeds from our classes support our nonprofit youth and community programs which serve 1600+ students annually.

Classes are $70 per person and all project materials are included.

Jeffrey Hirst Fine Art Studio

Artists Jeffrey Hirst and Helen Dannelly teach encaustic painting, ink painting onto Yupo (synthetic watercolor paper) and printmaking workshops throughout the year at Bridgeport Art Center. Independent studies are available as well for students wishing to pursue private instruction.

Classes starting at $120 for 4 hour sessions.

Wet Paint – Wine & Paint Studio

With two locations within the Bridgeport Art Center, Wet Paint Chicago provides instructional art classes in a social setting.  Relax in a cool atmosphere with music and friends. They supply everything you need – paint, 16 × 20 canvas, brushes, and aprons.   Get your creative energy flowing by bringing your favorite beverage or libation – Wet Paint even has wine glasses ready for your enjoyment.  Never Painted before? No Problem.  They have talented artists ready to take you on a creative two hour journey. You will leave the session with your own original masterpiece.

Classes starting at $35 for 2 hours.  Kids and private parties available.

Eleven Eleven Jewelry

Dobrila Pintar, was educated in Murano, Italy and worked with glass masters on traditional Venetian bead crafting. She teaches classes on glass bead and jewelry making for individuals, groups, and children 12 years and up.  Create unique art to wear and enjoy in this interactive studio!

Classes starting at $75 – $80 for 2 hour sessions. Workshops start at $40.
